Grazie, Prada. The house’s Spring ’27 runway show went all-in on skirts—a clear declaration that they’re the garment of the moment. While spring is still months away, we’re ready to lean in. From art and animal prints to feathery tufts and tactile embellishments, fall’s most exciting skirts have personalities all their own.
And how to style them? Give the skirt room to command attention with a casual tank or cashmere knit, or add a sharp jacket for your own version of a power suit. Then again, the runway offered plenty of encouragement to pile it on (more ideas below).
Among our favorites are Dries Van Noten’s embellished midis, which put an ornate spin on print clashing. Also on our radar: Kallmeyer’s embroidered fringed maxi (more on that later), giving us one more reason to forgo trousers for the foreseeable future.
